Buying New Tabletop Accessories? Look for…Honeysuckle
Every season, there is a new color that is branded the “color of the season.” Almost every industry has its own version but one of the most interesting industries to come out with colors is the interior design industry.
This industry influences the design of many homes, not to mention the accessories that come with it, like a a range of tabletop accessories and other gracious goods for the home. The Pantone Color Institute, issues it’s color of the year for homes. So without further ado, this year’s color of spring is…… Honeysuckle!
Wait. What?
You’re probably thinking to yourself, why is this bright red-pink extravaganza is the color people will paint their homes in? But with its vibrant and playful atmosphere, it appears to be dominating house decor. It is practically everywhere.
Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute told Seatle’s Hearst newspaper that people should start to “add a lively flair to interior spaces with honeysuckle patterned pillows, bedspreads, small appliances and tabletop accessories.” Even barware is influenced by the color. The Pantone Color institute, located in Carlstadt, N.J. usually sets color standards for the fashion and home industries.
Love it or hate it, the hue is everywhere this spring. And design experts say there are many easy ways to incorporate it into your home without breaking the bank.
“Add a lively flair to interior spaces with honeysuckle patterned pillows, bedspreads, small appliances and tabletop accessories,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute.
